Graduated!!!
Hurray!! I have graduated from college. Yours truly has two degrees, a BS in Ecology and a BS in Marine Biology. I got my grades for the past semester, I'm not quite pleased. I was under the impression that I was getting an A in Marine Mammals due to hints the professor dropped about how I was doing, but alas, it was a B and not to be. I've increased my hours at KSC so that I can pay for the rent where I'm staying this summer. I think I can say that I've officially moved out of my parent's house, which is kind of weird since I'm still semi-dependent on them for moolah. Either way, I've signed a lease in Gainesville for an apartment. I'm so excited!! I went up, all by myself (i'm so independent *chuckle*) and searched all day for an apartment. Then I picked one. Major props to the fact that I will have my own washer and dryer. Community laundry rooms will haunt me no more!Right now Florida Tech is hosting the National Convention for Tri-Beta. I'm helping to organize and run the event, which has been crazy, since all of the participants keep coming to me for answers. People!! I'm not in charge of the damn event! It's been fun though, I've got to meet some cool people. However, seeing alot of these presentations and posters, it's really struck home how much better prepared I am for the scientific world than some of these other jokers. I know how to make an effective poster and how to present a good presentation. Dr Tankersley, you were an ass, but you did make your point, so thanks for all the shit we had to go through to learn what we did. I guess I did grow in your class. Sorry, that was random. What's also cool is that several of my classmates were much friendlier to me now that we're not classmates. It's wierd, being able to chat without feeling like they were snubbing me. But, not anymore. Which is awesome. Maybe that will happen with some HS people. I won't get my hopes up.
This tuesday I fly up to Michigan to see Eric. yay eric!! we are then driving to North Dakota (ugh) for the wedding of his friend's brother. Does that make any sense? Either way, I'm happy I'll get to spend some time with him.
Update: I did receive the scholarship to go to Spain! I will be heading to Santander Spain this July for the Astrobiology Summer School. I'm so thrilled. Hopefully more news to come. I haven't heard much else than, "You've been accepted, blah blah blah" which is cool.
