bank account woes
"It's all that anger and frustration from dealing with your daughter's bank account"
"I wasn't angry. There was no anger."
"Yes there was. You just internalized it and it came spewing out your foot."
-Mom explaining to Dad how the mysterious holes appeared in the heel of his sock, when they weren't there this morning
No work!
Today I finally got my day off! Hurray! No work at Sears! I slept blessedly late until Tomas woke me up. Oh well. We went out shopping, Sam's Club, Ocean State Job Lot and Homegoods. I got a computer game based on milking cows. It's great! Lazed around the house for the rest of the day and night, then watched Bourne Supremacy. So far it's good. We have a fire in our fireplace, it's not keeping me as toasty as I would have hoped. Night.
Ooooh watching Stargate!
Today was interesting to say the least. Work was less than fun, however I did get to work in the Tool department. It is much more enjoyable than working the softlines (ex. womens, mens) Men are much easier to deal with when they are shopping. It is one of their excellent qualities. Women get bitchy when they shop. See the previous post for a really good example. After work I went to Borders and bought Season 5 of Stargate. Yay Stargate! Well, that's what I'm watching now. Only season 4 though. It's still good. Mom made stuffed shells for dinner. They were excellent. I think that I'm gonna go take a quick jog on Mom's christmas present, an elliptical trainer. I prefer treadmills myself. In a gym. Not my family room. That's it for now.
Yay Snow!
Well, I was enjoying my bed until Sears called. Apparently my coworkers are slackers and I'm dependable. So, being called at 8:10, I rush out of bed to make it to work and clock in at 8:39. I am proud. Luckily, because I had a dentist appointment, I only had to work until 12 pm. Hurray. At least there weren't that many people in the store. I was happy.
The dentist was, well, the dentist. Unfortunately I have cavities. Two. I need to floss.
I went by the dive shop today and got my gear all put together. And I bought gear bags; a regulator bag and luggage, expensive luggage. Thank goodness for the going-out-of-business discount.
After that, family came to visit, my Aunt Maria and cousin Tomas. Fun times. Especially when Tomas picks on me and then proceeds to tell me that if anyone needs threatening, he has friends in Florida that don't mind going back to jail. God I love him. Too bad Laura couldn't come down though, I was looking forward to hanging out with her, we haven't seen each other in a while.
We went to the mall, I got Christmas presents for the roommates. Today was the first time I've ever been in Hot Topic. The store scares me, but it happened to solve 2/3 of my gift issues. Hurray!
Well, hopefully I can watch some tv tonight before sleeping on a cot and going to work tomorrow. ick
I suppose today wouldn't have been awful if I hadn't had to go into work. Sears is annoying me, greatly. ARgh. Bad points all around. First I was insulted by a customer because I wouldn't take an ink tag off of a dress (we don't have dresses btw) without a proof of purchase.
Then, they blamed me for not putting the extra 30% off on their slippers, it wasn't my fault, the discount just didn't register in the computer. I really wish I didn't need this job. Second, I had to be at work at 6:45 am, and did not have lunch until 12:30 pm. We were supposed to have our breaks at 11 am but the cashiers never showed up that were supposed to. Third, the lines never ended. As soon as the store opened. Nonstop. Why were you out you morons??
Good part of the day, I took a nap. Yay, naps. AND, I got to see my cousin whom I haven't seen in forever. I miss Eric like nothing else. At least I get to see him in two weeks. And to think, it's only been 1 week. Ick, summer will stink. Well.....maybe not....hmmm....Australia.
Excitement ensues with the addition of my own scuba gear. I'm getting it all set up tomorrow at Aquatic Adventures in Manchester. Now I just need to figure out how to get it to Melbourne.
Interesting fact, once I leave Manchester on January 8th, I will not be returning until the end of June (I hope mid-July) And if I can't get to my Uncle's wedding in April, I will not be seeing my family at all either. In addition, if anyone who lives in the Melbourne area would care to let me live with them for a week in May, I'd be extremely grateful. And then give me a ride to the airport with my stuff. Again, grateful.
Well, I must be going, have to bring out the trash in the snow and all. Grrrr.
Merry Christmas!!!
Wow, so I really need to keep coming back here more often....um, I'll try to be consistent. Anyway,
MERRY CHRISTMAS !!! I like color!
Today was awesome. I woke up, earlier than expected (read: I was 'woken' up but I was already awake) My parents are awesome! My own SCUBA gear!! BCD, regulator, backup, and a skin suit. all for Australia and for the future!! They totally rock. Randomly I got a My Little Pony. Apparently they are making a comeback. Who knew? Also got some random fuzzy socks, pajamas and a book that can go on the coffee table in Florida. Bunch of candy too, which isn't good since I want to lose weight.
Mom and I went for a walk on Case Mountain. I brought my camera with and think I might have some nice pictures. It wasn't too cold and the 2 mile walk kept me warm. Had some nifty girl talk with Mom (topics focused on Eric and Australia) Christmas dinner was wonderful and we'll be seeing a movie tonight. Hopefully we won't go too late since I have to work tomorrow morning at Sears. Ugh. Well, I'm gonna post now, AND put the link in my profile so people can actually READ what I'm writing. Should be interesting.
