10 days left !!!

I've been keeping track of how many hours I have left until I see Eric again. It's around 220 hours right now I believe. That's so awesome. I tell Eric each night how many hours are left and then we decide if the number is a prime number or not. Wow, we are such geeks. I love it.

I just took a test on Tickle.com, Which Fantasy Island Are You? The result? Amy, your fantasy island is New Zealand. Wow, that is totally awesome. I completely agree.

Which Candy Heart Are You? I am "Say Yes" Wow, like that one doesn't surprise me. But I'm getting ahead of myself..... Though a quote of the results did say that the best ones are always in the most unlikely places. I'll totally agree. Like the side door of the SUB. Randomly. At lunch. When I need a date.

And is Eric THE ONE?? He is definitely tilting the scale towards "more the one" That's awesome. Wow, I am SO bored.

And what kind of Goddess am I? I am an ANGEL!!!

Anyway, that's all for now. Eric called. yay!

I am Eowyn

So, I'm watching Pizza My Heart with the girl from Roswell. It's totally making me miss Eric. I'm also distracting myself online with random searches. Here's a result. More later I suppose.

Eowyn

Eowyn

If I were a character in The Lord of the Rings, I would be Eowyn, Woman of Rohan, niece of King Theoden and sister of Eomer.

In the movie, I am played by Miranda Otto.

Who would you be?

Eric's Radio Show

Today was pretty good. I was supposed to go into work at 3:30 pm today but because my coworkers are lazy asses, my supervisor called at 9 am (while I was still asleep) and asked my mom if I could come in ASAP. She said yes and then woke me up. I actually didn't mind since it meant that I could be done with work by 3 pm and have the whole rest of the day free. Sears is actually beginning to annoy me greatly since they have absolutely NO common sense. Yesterday, a girl stole 170 dollars worth of clothing merchandise from the Juniors department and Loss Prevention could do nothing about it as soon as she left the store. They followed her out into the mall and then the parking lot. They waved to her as she drove away. She waved back. Sears refuses to do anything that might prevention theft. They do nothing to control what people bring in and take out of the dressing rooms. Argh. Anyway.

Mom picked me up from Sears at 3 and we went shopping for a nice outfit for her for the wedding we're going to on Saturday. We tried Target first, but Sears actually proved to be a better choice (go figure). Not only was there a bunch of summer clearance but I get 20% discount for being an employee. YESSSSSS. I got a nice top that I plan on wearing with a white skirt and nice sandals. Mom got a bunch of clothes. She also got sandals and I got new sneakers, which i needed. After a bit of a fiasco with my employee discount (turns out I need a new card, need to talk to Marge in HR) we left with a 36$ discount. Niceee.

Came home and sat out in the sun and chatted with mom and dad. We discussed the feasibility and practicality of me sharing an apartment with Eric his senior year, my first year grad school. Surprisingly, they are not completely outright against it. Mom headed off to her upholstery class and dad and I went to pick scott up from work then grabbed chinese for dinner. We ate then dropped scott off at a party of some sort. Dad and I came back home in time for Eric's radio show and the MOst Extreme Elimination challenge. Both are great shows.

I love Eric's radio show.

College Radio can pretty much be summed up in 5 words. Dead air, um, dead air.

Cheryl visited!

Cheryl came from Syracuse this past weekend to visit for a couple days! It was awesome! She arrived minutes after I got home from taking care of the horses. Luckily I didn't have to go into Sears to work so we spent the afternoon cooling off in the pool. Cheryl accepted the position I have for her for the future.....hehehehe. The pool was fun. We got Lobster for dinner, omg, heaven. Cheryl and I went out to see a movie, Wedding Crashers. So cute and funny! The next day we went out to the horse barn cause I have to take care of the horses for Jane for about 5 days. We cleaned stalls, Jazmin helped too. Then everyone got to go riding. It was bunches of fun. We all cooled off in the pool. I called in to Sears and ended up having to go in. Which was stupid since there were plenty of cashiers on hand and not that many customers. I was mad, it was a long night. Oh well, I suppose that's all for now. Not much information otherwise.

Thinking of you

So I was in a pizza shop in northwestern Mass. today after visiting Shelburn Falls. Big woop, glacial potholes. I was kind of bored. However the two kids smoking pot were kind of amusing. Anyway, in a pizza shop and flipping through a digital jukebox. I had fifty cents, the cost of one song. So I played the one that made me think of you. Here it is love.

With life just begun, my sleeping new son
Has eyes that roll back in his head
They flutter and dart, he slows down his heart
And pictures a world past his bed
It’s hard to believe
As I watch you breathe
Your mind drifts and weaves

When you dream,
What do you dream about?
When you dream,
What do you dream about?
Do you dream about
Music or mathematics
Or planets too far for the eye?
Do you dream about
Jesus or quantum mechanics
Or angels who sing lullabies?

His fontanelle pulses with lives that he’s lived
With memories he’ll learn to ignore
And when it is closed, he already knows
He’s forgotten all he knew before
But when sleep sets in
History begins
But the future will win

When you dream,
What do you dream about?
When you dream,
What do you dream about?
Are they colour or black and white,
Yiddish or english
Or languages not yet conceived?
Are they silent or boisterous?
Do you hear noises just
Loud enough to be perceived?
Do you hear del shannon’s ’runaway’ playing
On transistor radio waves?
With so little experience,
Your mind not yet cognizant
Are you wise beyond your few days?
When you dream,
What do you dream about?
When you dream,
What do you dream about?

Barenaked Ladies - When you dream

Mmmmm, I'm ready to sleep now. Will you sing it to me again?

Trip to the CT shore and Dino Park

Just the other day Mom, Dad, Scott, Becky and I all went for a day trip to the CT shore. Our goal was the Mystic direction. Dad wanted whole-belly clams, Mom wanted to smell salty air and I just wanted to kick back and relax.
We ended up stopping at the Nature's Art store with all the cool fossils and gemstones. They had some nice Australian Opals which were underpriced. Dad randomly bought Mom an opal necklace. It's really pretty. Mom and I also got something for Dad for a future Christmas present since he's so hard to buy for. This way, we know we have something he'll like.
After Nature's Art we continued down to the shore to acquire food. I had the BEST lobster sandwich. Ahhh, perfection. Scott tried clam strips at Becky's urging and said he kind of liked them. Maybe we have the makings of another seafood lover in the family.....
Lunch was followed by a drive to the Groton Submarine Base where we walked through the museum and toured the sub that they have. Scott, Becky and I had fun walking around talking about stuff. I really feel like I'm a neutral party between them and the 'rents. Oh well. I guess it works out since I can hear both sides of issues.
We then headed to UConn, Avery Point Campus. There was a wedding going on in the big house. It was nice to sit in the sun, listening to the waves and smelling the salt air. We finally got scott to open up and talk to my parents, which is a good thing. Thanks Becky for that. I finally upped the courage to tell my parents that Eric is planning to propose in the next year or two. I was expecting completely different reactions than what they actually reacted with. Mom wasn't surprised at all, and really happy for me. That made things much easier.
The drive back was fairly unexciting.

Jazmin came in from New York City on the bus that I escorted the other day. The other two Escorts forgot to bring VHS tapes, they brought DVDs instead so we had to keep 25 young NYC kids calm without TV for 3 hours. That was real fun.

Last night Nick and his friend Staci came over and watched Danny Deckchair with me. I love that movie. They liked it too.

Jazmin, Mom, Dad and I went to the Rocky Hill Dinosaur Park today. Man, that place is so cool. I wore my stromatolite shirt from Shark Bay and there was a mention of stromatolites on the timeline of earth on the way into the visitors building. Dad took a picture. We went on a quick hike (0.6 miles) and I was the only one that got bitten by mozzies. Bloody Hell. Becky came over, Jon too, and told me that Eric should come to visit for the summer. I wish.

Happy pre-Fourth of July

I'd like to say belated happy 58th Anniversary of the Roswell New Mexico alien crash landing and an early Happy Independence Day. I believe AMC is celebrating both anniversaries by showing Independence Day (the movie) on the day inbetween (today). That's such a great movie. In honor of that myself, I'll include some of my favorite quotes from the movie.....

All you need is love, John Lennon, smart man, shot in the back very sad.

In the words of my generation: Up Yours!

Oh, no. no, you are NOT shootin' that green shit at me!

*punches alien* Welcome to Earth

Payback's a bitch ain't it?!

and in honor of Eric, who really likes this quote...
Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight!" We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!

Last night I must say was the best conversation I've had. You know who you are and I cannot wait to see you again. I could not get you out of my mind all day today. I love you bunches!!

Thank you Eric, or should I say, Anakin Skywalker????

Town Fireworks!

Whew, back in Connecticut after 36 hours of travelling that I don't want to remember at all. The number is enough for me.
Today (July 2) Manchester had their Independence Day fireworks. The fireworks were pretty cool but I was falling asleep (stupid jet lag) Dad has a new digital camera with video and sound features so we recorded some of the fireworks and all of Anthony singing the National Anthem. I said hello to his family and talked for a little while.
I saw several other people from high school but only Eleanor Waxman recognized me, or at least said hi. I wish Eric was here. I also saw some of my teachers from Elementary School. They were really impressed with where I've been. Mom says that teachers always appreciate seeing their students succeed. I guess I've done that. Mrs. O'Reilly was really happy to see me. She was my 4th grade teacher.
Other random news. I got my haircut today. It's really short. My ponytail was long enough to be cut off completely and sent to Locks of Love to be made into a wig for kids with cancer who've lost their hair. Yes! Something productive to do with my hair after it's been cut off! Apparently I look cute with my hair cut. Nice.
